Hob Nob Straw Poll Message From Patricia

Dear Patriots,

Happy Valentine’s Day! I want to thank those who “showed me the love” yesterday by driving out to Orlando City Hall on a VERY cold day to participate in the Tea Party Hob Nob and Straw Poll.  In his own backyard, the candidate who ran in the 2008 primary could only muster 5 more votes than me!  I came in second place, 119 to 114 and I am thrilled with the results!  For a complete list of the straw poll results, follow this link:  http://www.teapartypatriotslive.com/2010/02/13/orlando-tea-party-candidate-hob-nob-straw-poll-results/ One of our Patriots, Mike Droog, has put a video together of my speech  for those who were unable to make the event.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3f2xVaXRMM I want to send big hugs to every Patriot who braved the frigid temperatures and worked the crowd getting petitions signed and a very big bear hug to Jan, Jer, Marge and Dick for arriving in the early hours of the morning to set up our booth!  We also had teams walking door to door after the event and as soon as we have an updated petition total, we will get it to you.  The continued support of our Patriot Army is a tremendous encouragement to me.  Every morning we have the opportunity to wake up and say “What will I do today to fight for America’s freedom?” and when I see you working at these events, making phone calls, collecting petitions and hear your prayers over me, I know I am blessed to have you on our team and I give thanks for each one of you.  This morning I was reading 1 John and in 3:18 is says “…let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.”  Thank you for showing your love of Country through your actions.  You inspire me!

Great news! I have the opportunity to attend CPAC in Washington DC this week and have been asked to speak at a reception Friday night and be on a radio show Saturday.  This is a great opportunity to build relationships with strong Conservatives across the Nation.  I just received the invite recently and booked the trip last week.  This was not in our campaign budget, so if you feel led to make a donation to our campaign to help cover the costs, please do!  Checks can be made to Patricia Sullivan for Congress and mailed to PO Box 997, Eustis, FL  32727-0997.  Just put CPAC in the message line. Also, your prayers for this trip are greatly appreciated as well.  I will leave Wednesday and return Sunday.
Thank you for your strength and support!

Patricia Sullivan Web Site Returns after Hacker Attack

Our most recent press release:

Eustis, FL, January 8, 2010 – The web site of Patricia Sullivan, candidate for Florida’s Eighth Congressional District, was viciously attacked by hackers on December 21st.  Sullivan’s technical staff used the holiday period to recover from the attack and install a new look for the campaign.

When asked about the attack, Sullivan responded, “We’re honored that hackers chose to attack our site of all the candidates in the race for the District 8 FL Congressional seat held by Alan Grayson.  Clearly, someone is threatened by my candidacy to take such extreme measures and spend as much time as they did writing malicious code throughout the pages.  If they are willing to go to such outrageous lengths to keep us off the web, we must be making an impact.”

Sullivan continued by saying, “Although someone went to a lot of trouble to disrupt our communications with the people of District 8, we are not deterred.”  Patricia Sullivan announced her candidacy on October 6, 2009 as a Conservative Republican, inspired to run against liberal freshman Congressman Alan Grayson (D-FL) by her participation in the TEA Party Movement.

Florida’s Eighth Congressional District includes parts of Orlando, MetroWest, Celebration, Windermere, Apopka, Mount Dora, Eustis, and eastern Ocala, in addition to a number of other towns.  The District spans sections of four Florida counties: Orange, Osceola, Lake, and Marion.  The Eighth District is notable for its major theme park attractions in the Orlando area as well as the Orlando International Airport, the Orange County Convention Center, and the majority of the Orlando area hotel capacity.  Northern segments of the District are known for their numerous lakes, excellent fishing, historic towns, residential development, and specialized agriculture.

ABOUT PATRICIA SULLIVAN – A resident of Eustis, Florida, Patricia Sullivan has been heavily involved in the 4-H program as a local and state leader since 2002.  In 2007 she was named Volunteer of the Year by the Florida State 4-H Youth Development Program.  Patricia is an organizer of the North Lake TEA Party.  A Florida resident since 1973, Patricia is a graduate of Seminole Community College.  With her husband, Scott, she has home-schooled their four children.

Let’s Make 2010 a Prosperous New Year

As we begin a new year, I want to wish everyone happiness and prosperity during the year to come.  But my wishes will go only so far…

Let us all do our best to make this a prosperous year, despite the recession and other negative influences.   As Americans, we are known for many positive qualities, and resiliency is one of our strongest traits.

Our greatest strength is our ability to work together, even though we may have differences.   I challenge everyone to do something positive to make 2010 a year of growth, prosperity, and peace.
